Level Classification

Interlang provides customized Japanese lessons for all levels from beginner to advanced.

 

 Introductory Level:

Those with no prior experience.


 Beginner Level:

Equivalent in language capability to those who have studied greetings, numbers, days and times Hiragana/Katakana kanji 100


 Intermediate Level:

Equivalent in language capability to those who have mastered expressions of shopping, ordering in restaurants,giving directions to a taxi driver, inviting and offering to do something and making requests (Kanji 500)


 Semi-Advanced Level:

Equivalent in language capability to those who have mastered comparisons, expressions of experience,giving advice, obligations, conditional form and modifying nouns (Kanji 1,000)


 Advanced Level:

Equivalent in language capability to those who can read articles from newspapers and magazines and express their opinions about a topic (Kanji 2,000)
 


 

Conversation Course

Introductory - Introduction to the Japanese language

Level : Those with no prior experience or have little ability to converse.

Objective : To acquire survival communication skills.

Tuition : 50 hours of tuition

Materials : Japanese for Busy People I, CD, Minna no Nihon-go

Beginner - Limited ability to express themselves

Level : Equivalent in language capability to those who have studied greetings, numbers and can carry on survival Japanese conversations.

Objective : To acquire daily conversational skills.

Tuition : 50 hours of tuition

Materials : Japanese for Busy People I, II, CD, Minna no Nihon-go

Intermediate - Can carry on a daily conversation.

Level : Equivalent in language capability to those who have studied adjectives and verbs(expressions with te-form v.,expressions with nai-form v. and dic. form v.)

Objective : To build up conversational skills and to use Japanese correctly in the right situations.

Tuition : 50 hours of tuition

Materials : Japanese for Busy People II, III, CD, Minna no Nihon-go

Advanced - Can carry on fairly complex conversations

Level : Equivalent in language capability to those who have mastered all important grammar rules.

Objective : To communicate freely in social conversations.

Tuition : 50 hours of tuition for each course

Materials : Chukyu kara Manabu Nihon-go  Intermidiate Japanese - an Integrated Course, CDs

Business Japanese Course

Intermediate - Can carry on a daily conversation

Objective : To acquire conversational techniques to accurately convey their intentions and to carry out linguistic functions more effectively.

Tuition : 50 hours of tuition

Materials : Nihon-go de Business Kaiwa, CDs

Contents : Asking for clarification, requesting, greetings, making reservations, leaving a messages, making apologies, Japanese customs, making inquiries, making appointments, handling complaints, etc.

Advanced - Can carry on fairly complex conversations

Objective : To acquire communication skills for specific business situations.

Tuition : 50 hours of tuition for each course

Materials : Japanese for Business People, Articles from various Economic Journals, Video tapes recorded from current TV programs

Contents : Negotiating, socializing, meetings, presentations, claims, reports, discussions, and debates on Japanese economic topis, etc.
